Money
You can pay in Euros, Dollars or Kenyan Shillings. Deposits can be made by bank transfer or MPesa (details on request).
You can withdraw local currency at local ATMs with European bank cards ( Visa and Master Card) – it is unadvisable to change money at home at bad rates. Travellers' cheques are not common.
Those who are planning a longer holiday should inform themselves about MPesa. A great Kenyan invention! Money transfers by mobile phone makes cashless transactions an extremely convenient option . The only condition is that you have your own Kenyan SIM card from Safaricom.
Time difference
EAT compared to CET: +2 hours (+1 hour for summer time).
